I recently graduated with my PhD in philosophy from Indiana University, Bloomington. I am originally from Edmonton, Alberta in Canada. My primary interest is Kant’s theoretical and ethical philosophy. I am also interested in 19th and 20th century German philosophy, especially Fichte, Hegel, Marx, and Heidegger.
My research particularly focuses on Kant’s doctrine of transcendental idealism and interpreting arguments in Kant’s theoretical philosophy surrounding this doctrine. These arguments include Kant’s direct proof in the Transcendental Aesthetic for the transcendental ideality of space and time, Kant’s Refutation of Idealism, and Kant’s indirect proof in the Antinomies for the transcendental ideality of appearances.
When I am not theorizing about Kantian metaphysics you can find me exploring the outdoors with my wife, enjoying indie rock concerts, and trying to brew the perfect cup of coffee.
